What is a Gypsum Carpenter?

A Gypsum Carpenter is a construction worker who uses gypsum, or plaster of Paris, to build walls and ceilings.

What qualifications are required to become a Gypsum Carpenter?

1. Certification from an accredited certification body such as the National Gypsum Association

2. Previous experience in gypsum construction or plastering

3. Knowledge of various types of construction materials and how to use them safely

4. Strong work ethic and attention to detail

5. Excellent problem solving skills

What are the skills required to become a Gypsum Carpenter?

1. Have a working knowledge of construction materials and how to use them properly.

2. Be skilled at using hand tools, including saws, chisels, hammers, drills and screwdrivers.

3. Have strong manual dexterity and be able to handle large pieces of gypsum with ease.

4. Know basic safety precautions when handling hazardous materials such as gas masks and gloves in order to avoid injury or exposure to harmful chemicals/fumes/dusts etc..

5 . Be familiar with the various types of joints that can be made out of gypsum board (lath & plaster)
