What is a Gypsum Carpenter?

A gypsum carpenter is someone who specializes in working with gypsum, a type of mineral. Gypsum is often used to create walls and ceilings, as well as other construction materials. A gypsum carpenter may also work with other building materials, such as plaster or concrete.

What qualifications are required to become a Gypsum Carpenter?

1. A minimum of two years experience in the construction trade is required to become a Gypsum Carpenter.

2. Must be able to read and understand blue prints and schematics, have good spatial reasoning skills, proficient with hand tools and carry out basic carpentry tasks accurately.

3. Have excellent problem solving abilities as well as strong work ethic; must be reliable and conscientious when working under pressure or on tight deadlines

4. Be skilled in using various gypsum products such as joint compounds, wall tapes, adhesives etc., know how to use a power saw properly and safely, have knowledge of safety equipment & procedures
