Job Title: Bag Repair Technician Company: Italian Shoe Factory Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates Italian Shoe Factory is a renowned manufacturer of high-quality footwear and leather goods, operating in Dubai since 1995. We are looking to extend our expert team by hiring a Bag Repair Technician at our Dubai location. If you have a knack for repairs, fine details, and a passion for the craftsmanship of luxury goods, we’d like to meet you. Responsibilities: Inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of luxury bags, working directly on individual pieces from start to finish. Replace and craft parts where necessary, including hardware, zippers, straps/handles, piping, and linings. Utilize leather working tools and machinery, including sewing machines, for repair and restoration tasks. Perform leather restoration — cleaning, conditioning, and recolouring. Source and select suitable types and grades of leather and fabric for repairs. Disassemble and reassemble leather and fabric/canvas bags, adhering to the high standards of our brand. Collaborate with the team while working with minimal supervision, maintaining an atmosphere of resourcefulness and commitment to achieving the best possible results. Requirements: Passion for leatherwork/bag repairs, and a shared vision with the Italian Shoe Factory. At least 2 year of relevant experience — as a bag repair technician, or as an upholsterer, saddler, or leather goods maker. Familiarity with different bag constructions and parts. Experience working on premium fashion goods with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work with varying degrees of speed and attention to detail, depending on the type of repair being performed. Experience with repairing and restoring footwear will be considered a plus. Ability to mix dyes and paints to match colours is a valuable addition. Willingness to supervise and teach junior staff, offering excellent customer service whenever necessary. Experience with sourcing products from suppliers and managing inventory. Ability to perform related services, such as bag making, shoemaking, footwear repair, and the cleaning and restoration of leather goods is a bonus.
