1. Proven experience as a head chef in a Michelin-starred restaurant

1. Strong leadership skills - a head chef must be able to lead a team and set the vision for their restaurant. They need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as problem solving abilities.
2. Excellent cooking skills - a head chef needs to know how to cook food perfectly, from start to finish, every time. This means they need thorough knowledge of ingredients and techniques, as well as experience in both high-end restaurants and Michelin starred ones.
