What is a Health, Safety & Environment Manager?

A Health, Safety & Environment Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees while also complying with environmental regulations. They may be involved in creating or implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance, training employees on how to safely perform their jobs, handling complaints from coworkers about unsafe working conditions, conducting investigations when injuries occur, and issuing citations or fines as needed.

What qualifications are required to become a Health, Safety & Environment Manager?

1. A degree in health, safety or environmental management from a reputable university is required.

2. Previous experience managing hazardous materials and/or working within an industrial setting is beneficial.

3. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential to be successful as a Health, Safety & Environment Manager.

4. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety procedures must be possessed for certification purposes; additionally, knowledge of basic math concepts such as fractions and decimals is helpful for data analysis tasks related to health & safety risk assessment etc .
