What is a Heavy Driver?

A Heavy Driver is a type of driver that operates heavy equipment, such as trucks and bulldozers. They are typically more experienced than standard drivers and have the strength necessary to operate these machines safely.

What qualifications are required to become a Heavy Driver?

1. A Heavy Driver must have a valid driver’s license and hold a CDL with the appropriate endorsement(s).

2. The Heavy Driver must be able to properly operate heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations.

3. Must possess excellent driving skills, including the ability to safely handle large trucks under emergency conditions while maintaining control of the vehicle.

4. Must pass a physical examination that includes proof of vision correctable up to 20/40 in each eye; hearing normal at 80dB or better on both ears audiometric test (weight should not exceed 300lbs) ; blood pressure no higher than 140/90 mm Hg.; chest X ray clear for pulmonary tuberculosis; stool study negative for parasites; pregnancy testing negotiable); urinalysis satisfactory without organic matter found). Upon passing all requirements an applicant is given certification as being “fit for duty” by our company's medical staff . 5.) Ability to work weekends as necessary
