A Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a person who repairs, maintains and operates heavy equipment in the workplace. They may also be responsible for safety on site while working with these machines. A Heavy Equipment Mechanic typically has a high school diploma or equivalent, along with experience in repairing and maintaining large machinery.
1. A college degree in engineering or a related field is required.
2. Several years of experience operating heavy equipment is preferred, but not necessary.
3. Knowledge of mechanics and electronics are essential for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic position.
4._ Strong problem solving skills are needed to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly_ 5._ Excellent communication and coordination abilities must be possessed in order to effectively communicate with other team members
