A Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a professional who repairs and maintains heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, backhoes, and tractors. He or she also may be responsible for installing new parts on these machines and keeping them running safely. AHeavy Equipment Mechanic typically holds an associate degree in mechanical engineering or another related field.
1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required
2. Previous experience working with heavy equipment is a requirement
3. Must have the ability to read, write and understand basic engineering principles
4. MUST be able to work independently and take direction from others when needed
5. Ability to stay calm under pressure
The skills required to become a Heavy Equipment Mechanic generally include mathematics, physics, and engineering. Often, heavy equipment mechanics also need training in welding or machining technology.

PETROL MECHANIC Jobs & Responsibilities: • Caterpillar, Dozer, Shovel, Boom Loader and all heavy equipment’s trouble shooting and repairing. • Detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment • Check, diagnose and maintain the engine of small vehicle. • Repair and maintain petrol Engines that are used to power attachments such as hoists, booms, scrapers, buckets and augers and all small and Luxury car • Provide after-hours support for critical timelines when needed. • Use of pneumatic tools for mechanic equipment. • Operate and inspect machines as needed to assist the mechanic. • Assist with dismantling and reassembling of equipment. • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor. • Oil change, greasing, car washing, cleaning and other garage works. • Keep the surface of work clean and neat. • Responsible to start & check standby vehicle in garage weekly once. • After working hours Responsible for checking tool box, all oil drums nobs are properly tighten, diesel tank locked. • Responsible to keep team busy & completing work on time • Will be responsible for giving wrong parts details to purchase department • Should work as a Team • Should be good & co-operative with business customers • Should update management & report on timely basis • Work All-rounder for all kind of job allotted. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years in the workplace Recognized qualification in automotive petrol engine mechanics Good oral & written English Language Also experience in diesel engine mechanics Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Fault finding and diagnosis of Light & Commercial vehicles Ability to operate fixed and hand power tools required for their role Self-reliant, honest and responsible
