A Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a person who repairs and operates heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, backhoes and loaders. They may also be responsible for maintaining the equipment.
1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance is a must.
3. Valid certification from the Machinists Union, Operating Engineers, Agricultural Workers International Association (AWIA) orsimilar organization is preferred but not necessary for employment as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic*.
4.? Must be able to read and understand blueprints/engineering drawings of machinery.*? ?Must possess good hand-eye coordination*? ?Minimum height requirement: 5’7″ tall**
