What is a Heavy Equipment Mechanic?

3. Mechanic candidates need strong problem-solving skills as they will often be called upon to solve complex mechanical issues on the job.

In addition to their technical abilities, Mechanics also need good communication skills as they are frequently required for repairs outside of normal work hours or during overnight shifts when other staff are sleeping . 5 .
