What is a HVAC Technician?

A HVAC technician is a person who specializes in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). They work to keep buildings comfortable by turning on and off cooling systems, adjusting filters, regulating the temperature of rooms with heaters or A/C units.

What qualifications are required to become a HVAC Technician?

1. A minimum of two years experience in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician role is required to become certified.

2. Candidates must have an understanding of mechanical systems and be able to diagnose issues quickly with little or no guidance from the technicians on site.

3. Knowledge of health and safety regulations governing HVAC installations is essential as is the ability to work independently under pressure while meeting deadlines.

4 The applicant must be proficient in using basic tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, levelers and hammers; know how to read schematics; understand fluid dynamics; speak English fluently; have good problem solving skills ;and pass a technical exam covering all aspects of their trade..
