What is a HVAC Technician?

A HVAC technician is someone who installs, repairs and maintains heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. They are also responsible for training other technicians on how to work with the system.

What qualifications are required to become a HVAC Technician?

A person who wants to become a HVAC Technician must have an associate's degree in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or similar technical field. They also need at least 2 years of experience working with HVAC systems. Finally, they must pass the National Association of Home Builders certification exam for HVAC Technicians.

What are the skills required to become a HVAC Technician?

1. Knowledge of how HVAC systems work and the proper installation procedures for each type of system.

2. Familiarity with a variety of air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration units both mechanical and electronic in order to troubleshoot problems effectively.

3. Ability to read schematics diagrams and identify parts that may need replacement or adjustment on various types of equipment.

4. Experience working with tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers etc., necessary for repairing or replacing components on HVAC systems
