What is a HVAC Technician?

A HVAC technician is a person who installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. They may also work on other mechanical or electrical systems in buildings. A typical career path for a HVAC technician includes completing an apprenticeship program and then progressing to become certified through the National Board of Air Conditioning Contractors (NBACC).

What qualifications are required to become a HVAC Technician?

1. A certification as a HVAC Technician is required, such as the National Institute for Heating and Cooling (NIHC) Certification or an equivalent from another organization.
