What is a Instrument Fitter?

Instrument Fitters are responsible for the proper installation and adjustment of instruments used in various scientific, industrial or commercial settings. Instrument fitters must have a strong understanding of instrument mechanics as well as sound engineering principles to ensure accurate readings from their equipment. They may also be required to use specialized tools and software during installation or repair work

What qualifications are required to become a Instrument Fitter?

1. A degree in instrumentation or a related field is required.

2. Experience as an instrument fitter is preferred, but not necessary.

3. Instrument fitting can be done with hand tools or computer-aided equipment (CAD).

4. Fitting instruments requires precision and good eyeight; some basic math skills are also helpful .

5 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) certification program for Instrument Fitters is the most recognized standard for qualification in this profession

What are the skills required to become a Instrument Fitter?

1) Strong knowledge in engineering and instrumentation.
