What is a Instrument Technician?

Instrument Technicians are responsible for maintaining and repairing instruments used in various scientific disciplines. They may work in a research lab, an industrial plant, or aboard a ship. Instrument technicians use their knowledge of mechanics and electronics to diagnose problems with equipment and make repairs.

What qualifications are required to become a Instrument Technician?

1. The individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. They must be proficient in use of basic hand tools and machines, including being able to read and follow simple assembly instructions.

3. Basic math skills are needed to understand measurements and calculations used during repairs/installations on instruments.
