What is a Instrument Technician?

I. Instrument technicians are responsible for maintaining and repairing instruments used in various scientific, commercial, or industrial applications.

II. Instrument technicians use a variety of technical skills to repair malfunctioning equipment including mechanical engineering principles, electrical wiring techniques, and computer software programs.

III. Instrument technicians must be familiar with the different types of instrumentation available and have knowledge of how they work before attempting repairs or modifications.

IV. In order to complete repairs correctly, instrument technicians need accurate measurements as well as familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
