What is a Instrument Technician?

Instrument technicians are responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment used in various scientific, medical, industrial or agricultural fields. They may also be called upon to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions on these devices. Instrument technicians may have a degree in engineering technology or another technical field. They typically work under the supervision of engineers or other professionals with specialized knowledge in their area of expertise.

What qualifications are required to become a Instrument Technician?

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum of two years experience working with instruments and electronic equipment, including troubleshooting and repair procedures.

3. Knowledge in electrical wiring diagrams, instrumentation schematics, test equipment operation & maintenance instructions is required (or willing to learn).

4 Able to work independently as well as part of team environment with minimum supervision requirements/training provided by company .

5 Good communication skills are essential for Instrument Technician positions due to the frequent interaction between technicians and customers
