What is a Mason

A Mason (General) is a member of the Masonic order. He or she represents Masons in public and helps to guide their work.

What qualifications are required to become a Mason

1. Must be a man- Must not have been married within the past year

2. Age 21 and older- May petition Lodge for membership

3. Humble, sincere, and intelligent- Able to follow directions well

4. Belief in God (or a higher power)- Believes in one god or many gods

5. Comfortable with being barefoot/shrouded - Wears clothing that covers all but hands and face

What are the skills required to become a Mason

1. Ability to read and understand the ritual texts of Freemasonry

2. Knowledge of basic geometry and construction principles

3. Good communication, leadership, problem solving skills

4. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new things
