What is a Mason

A Mason (General) is a member of the Masonic fraternity. As a Mason, he or she undertakes to obey the laws and precepts of Freemasonry, as well as to aid other Masons in their quest for knowledge and understanding. A Mason also strives to live according to his or her moral convictions.

What qualifications are required to become a Mason

1. Must be at least 21 years of age

2. A man must have been born within the lawful jurisdiction of a state or country which is now, or was at one time, an American republic

3. Believe in a Supreme Being and use some form of prayer as part of their daily lives

4. Be able to read and write English fluently

5. Have received instruction from someone who has been properly initiated into Masonry
