What is a Mechanical Engineer?

A Mechanical Engineer is a professional who designs, manufactures and repairs machines. What qualifications are required to become a Mechanical Engineer?

1. A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is generally required for admission to a graduate program in the field. Engineers who work as consultants typically require at least 4 years of postgraduate study after completing their undergraduate degrees before being granted certification by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Certification allows civil engineers to provide independent consulting services on projects throughout North America without having individual project partners certify their technical competence every time they submit proposals for work..
