What is a Mechanical Fitter?

What qualifications are required to become a Mechanical Fitter?

A Mechanical Fitter must have a high school diploma or equivalent, certification in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution, and 2 years of experience as a fitter.

What are the skills required to become a Mechanical Fitter?

1. Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices

2. Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, schematics or drawings

3. Proven experience in the installation, repair or maintenance of machinery and equipment
