A MEP Technician is a technician who specializes in the installation, modification and repair of metal erection structures. They typically work with metals such as steel and aluminum, using tools like welding machines and saws to make repairs or construct new pieces.
The qualifications required to become a MEP Technician vary depending on the country in which they are employed. In general, however, most technicians need at least an associate's degree or equivalent in engineering technology and have experience working with computers. Some may also require certification by professional organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
