What is a Quantity Surveyor?

A quantity surveyor is a professional who helps businesses and governments work out how much products or services they need. They use measurements, statistics, and surveys to figure out what's needed in order to meet customer demand.

What qualifications are required to become a Quantity Surveyor?

1. A degree in Quantity Surveying from an accredited college or university

2. Five years of experience as a surveyor and/or mapping technician

3. Excellent mathematical skills, including trigonometry and calculus

4. Experience working with AutoCAD software and be proficient in using it

5. Good team player who is able to work independently while maintaining good communication

What are the skills required to become a Quantity Surveyor?

1. Ability to read, interpret and analyze drawings, specifications or other documents that provide information about the dimensions of a structure or its components

2. Knowledge of construction methods and materials

3. Experience in estimating quantities of materials needed for a project

4. Skill in use of computers to produce accurate estimates
