A quantity surveyor is a professional who helps determine the necessary quantities of materials and products for construction, manufacturing or other projects. A typical project may require surveys of various sites to identify what resources are available and how much they will cost. This information can be used to create an accurate budget estimate.
1. Education in engineering or surveying
2. Experience as a surveyor or engineer
3. Licensure, certification, and experience in surveying
4. Knowledge of metric system and computer-aided drafting software

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
