What is a Tig Welder?

A Tig Welder is a machine that uses high-frequency current to weld metal.

What qualifications are required to become a Tig Welder?

1. Have a valid welding certificate or have completed an approved apprenticeship program.

2. Be able to read and understand weldment drawings and schematics.

3. Possess good hand-eye coordination, work steadily under pressure, be mechanically inclined, safety conscience and possess basic tools including saws, hammers etc..

4. Pass a test demonstrating their knowledge of arc Welding principles & practices (TIG vs MIG). 5. Be physically fit enough to stand for long periods of time while wearing heavy protective gear

What are the skills required to become a Tig Welder?

-A Tig Welder must have some experience welding metal.

-They need to be able to read blueprints and understand how welds are made.

-Tig Welders need good hand eye coordination because they use a lot of small movements whilewelding.

-They also need strong concentration, as the fumes from the welder can be quite harmful if not handled correctly.
