What qualifications are required to become a Auto/Car Mechanic?

1. A diploma or equivalent in Automotive Technology from an accredited school is required to become a car mechanic.

2. Previous experience as a carpenter, electrician, machinist, or mechanics apprentice are valuable assets for aspiring auto mechanics.

3. Candidates must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and repair manuals thoroughly in order to diagnose problems with cars mechanically- This requires strong math skills too!

4. Mechanics typically need good hand-eye coordination along with the ability to stay calm under pressure while working on vehicles – all while wearing heavy safety gear!

5. Car mechanics work long hours - often weekends - so it's important that they have stamina and reliability when it comes time for their shift change
