What is a Auto/Car Mechanic?

A car mechanic is a person who maintains and repairs automobiles. They may also work on trucks, motorcycles, or other motor vehicles. Mechanics typically have a high school diploma or equivalent and are certified by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Many mechanics also hold professional certification from associations such as the International Auto Technicians Education Foundation (IATEF) or American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
