A car mechanic is someone who diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems with cars. They may also be able to perform minor maintenance or repair on a vehicle.
1. A diploma or degree in automotive mechanics from a recognized school is required to become a car mechanic.
2. Years of experience working on cars are also important, as is the ability to read and understand diagrams and repair manuals.
3. Many auto/car mechanics work independently; some may be affiliated with an automotive dealership or garage, while others work out of their homes.
4. Car mechanics must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to stay calm under pressure when repairing vehicles
