What is a Auto/Car Mechanic?

A car mechanic is someone who helps maintain and repair cars. They may work on engines, brakes, tires, or other mechanical parts of a car. A typical career path for a car mechanic includes training in mechanics school and then apprenticeship before working their way up to more senior positions.

What qualifications are required to become a Auto/Car Mechanic?

1. A certification from an automotive organization such as the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) or American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

2. Minimum two years experience working on cars and trucks, preferably in a mechanical capacity.

3. Knowledge of mechanics tools including wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers; knowledge of engine repair procedures is preferred but not required.

4. Fluent English language skills are necessary to communicate with customers and other technicians during repairs/maintenance work

What are the skills required to become a Auto/Car Mechanic?

1. Mechanics need to be able to read and understand car schematics.

2. They must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet when faced with difficult repairs or problems with cars.

3. Mechanics need good hand eye coordination, as they will often be working under tight spaces inside vehicles and fixing things while moving them around.

4. Mechanic’s also need strong tools in order to perform basic repair work such as using wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets etc., along with proper safety gear including goggles, gloves, a face mask if necessary and ear plugs/cotton balls for protection from noise levels inside a vehicle workshop environment .
