What is a Shuttering Carpenter?

A Shuttering Carpenter is a carpenter who specializes in installing and repairing shutters.

What qualifications are required to become a Shuttering Carpenter?

1. A Shuttering Carpenter must have a valid certification from the National Board of Standards and Technology (NBSOT).

2. They must be able to read blueprints and understand how framing works in order to properly install shutters.

3. Must be comfortable working with hand tools, including saws, chisels, hammers, drills etc., as well as using power tools such as routers or jigsaws for cutting wood joints or shaping profiles on shutter panels.

4. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and good judgment when installing shutters; often times there are many small details that need attention during construction which can lead to errors if not handled correctly.

5..Must also have strong communication skills so they can effectively communicate their findings/progress with clients
