What qualifications are required to become a Shuttering Carpenter?

1. A Shuttering Carpenter must have a valid Certificate of competency in carpentry from an accredited certification body.

2. The Shuttering Carpenter must be skilled in the installation and use of shingles, roofing materials and flashing systems on residential or commercial buildings.

3. The Shuttering Carpenter should have experience with framing structures using traditional methods such as 2x4s and joists along with modern construction techniques like I-joists and girders/stringers to create more efficient roofs utilizing less material while also meeting United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED requirements for green building standardsustainability .

4. Knowledge of solar thermal energy applications is often beneficial when designing rooftop cooling solutions that take into account shading caused by obstructions above windows..

5. Excellent problem solving skills are necessary to identify potential problems during the commissioning process which can lead to costly repairs down the road

What are the skills required to become a Shuttering Carpenter?

1. The ability to read blueprints and specifications of a project.

2. The ability to understand measurements and tolerances needed for certain tasks.

3. Knowledge in mathematics, trigonometry, engineering or construction principles that pertain to shutter assemblies such as angles, lengths, widths etc..

4. Experience working with power tools (drill/driver).
