A Accounts Admin is responsible for the day-to-day operation of an organization's accounting and finance functions. This could include, but isn't limited to, creating budgets, tracking financial data, issuing invoices and payments, reconciliation of accounts receivable/payable balances, and maintaining corporate files.
A person who wants to become an accounts admin should have a minimum of two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. They should also have strong computer skills and knowledge about financial reporting systems. Finally, the candidate must be able to work independently and take initiative.
1. Strong organizational skills – being able to keep track of multiple projects and tasks is a must for an Accounts Admin.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills – being able to effectively communicate with other members of the team, as well as clients, is necessary in this role.
3. Experience working with databases – understanding how databases work and having experience using them is essential for accounts administration roles.
4. Excellent computer literacy - knowing how to use common software programs such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop will be beneficial in this position, especially if you plan on handling client files electronically/online . 5 . Ability to stay calm under pressure - often times accountants are called upon to handle difficult customer situations that can become frustrating quickly; having the ability remain composed during these moments is key
