What is a Shuttering Carpenter?

A Shuttering Carpenter is a tradesman who repairs and installs shutters. Shutters are large pieces of wood or metal that cover windows in order to protect them from the elements.

What qualifications are required to become a Shuttering Carpenter?

1. A valid driver's license is required

2. certification from the National Shuttering Association (NSA) or a similarly qualified organization is recommended

3. experience in framing, construction and/or repair of structures is preferred

4. good hand-eye coordination and basic carpentry skills are necessary

5. ability to work independently
