A Staff Nurse is a nurse who works in the medical staff of a hospital or other health-care facility. They are responsible for providing care to patients, and often work alongside doctors and nurses to provide comprehensive patient care. Staff Nurses typically have an associate's degree in nursing, but some may have a bachelor's degree as well. They must pass both the National Council Licensure Examination (NCE) and licensure examination for practice as Registered Nurses (RN).
A. A registered nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience in general medical or surgical nursing is required.
B. A current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state where applicant desires to work is required.
C. Minimum education requirements for staff nurses vary, but most programs require an undergraduate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Staff nurses typically have 4 years of postgraduate training before they are eligible for licensure candidacy examination by their respective state boards of nursing..
D.
