There's nothing wrong trying different things until one finds what works best FOR THEM personally .....and preferably WITHOUT quitting his/her day job first ;) All joking aside ....resumes displaying all applicable listed accomplishments will certainly get noticed much more favorably than those lacking any type(s) of information included therein regardless how qualified you may feel !!!!! :-) Finally don't forget ...to dress smartly whenever meeting prospective bosses face-toface especially if visiting company offices where attire might reflect positively upon your candidacy ;-) Typically Engineers wear business casual attire consisting mostly Of pantsuits , skirts below knee length aka pencil skirts , blouses tucked inside waistbands rather than showing cleavage (& preferably NO exposed midriffs please!), closed toe shoes rather than sandals ect ......etc.....for men shirt collars should never extend further down beyond shoulder blades nor must ties always be worn knotted around neck....unless interviewing for position involving wearing something particularly hazardous then go ahead tie it loosely around your collarbone :) A final piece advice I'd offer specifically targeting women intending pursing careers in Engineering......make sure ALL aspects related mainly focused towards raising children occupy ample amounts serious thought BEFORE making ANY decisions.......many mothers mistakenly take leave from their careers prematurely due some unforeseen event causing Extended maternity leave entitlements available under certain circumstances)...rather continue earning income throughout pregnancy PLUS return back 2x longer once baby arrives home instead giving up dream entirely only later realising too late maybe wasn’t great idea afterall :-( Another consideration worth bearinginmind before starting anything resembling significant unpaid parental leave again anytime soon........is whether remaining employed fulltime while caring fulltime for young child financially sustainable longterm.........as opposed thereto electing Instead spend several months each year travelling oversees enjoying life hiking mountains climbing glaciers skiing flying living la vida loca spending quality bonding moments away FROM kids ........then come home switch roles temporarily returning employer paid parental Leave so gradually rising hours worked eventually approaches 40 hrs week ..........thus enabling parents simultaneously enjoy traditional “9 TO 5′ dawn till dusk′ workweek yet manage family responsibilities concurrently ))))))). Gender identity does NOT play any role whatsoever when assessing suitability criteria associated WITH seeking Employment AS AN ENGINEER!!!!!
