1. The best way to hire a Marine Officer in Liechtenstein is through the Liechtenstein Military Academy (LMA).
2. To be eligible for admission into LMA, applicants must have completed either an academic degree from a recognized university or equivalent military experience.
3. Upon completing their studies at LMA, Marine Officers will receive a commission as Second Lieutenant and will serve in the Swiss Army until they are promoted to First Lieutenant status or reach retirement age.
4. After being commissioned, officers may choose between serving on active duty with the Swiss Armed Forces or taking up civilian positions within government agencies and commercial enterprises within Switzerland’s borders; however, all service members are required to complete one year of national service every five years if not already fulfilling this requirement prior to joining the military ranks of Liechtenstein-based units such as Landstreitkräfte (Army) and Zivilarbeiter (Police).
5 In order to qualify for foreign postings requiring promotion beyond first lieutenant rank – including assignments aboard naval vessels operating abroad – candidates must demonstrate both linguistic skills sufficient for carrying out officer functions under difficult conditions while also possessing good leadership abilities fit for command responsibility while stationed outside Switzerland's territorial waters
or less.
There is no centralised system for the recruitment of Marine Officers from overseas in Liechtenstein, but instead officers are typically recruited through personal connections or by applying directly to relevant authorities. In order to be considered for a position as a Marine Officer, applicants must possess at least five years’ experience in maritime law and related fields, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to work independently while under pressure.
