1. Hiring a PM is an important decision, and it’s one that you shouldn’t make hastily. Before making any decisions about who to hire as your new project manager, be sure to do some research and consider all of your options carefully. There are many qualified candidates out there, so don’t let the fact that you don’t know where to start hold you back from finding the best person for the job.

2. When interviewing potential project managers, be sure to ask them questions related to their experience managing projects in both small and large organizations alike. It can be helpful if they have previous work experience with similar types of projects or companies – this will give you an idea of how well they will fit into your team culture and what kind of leadership skills they may possess. Additionally, it can be helpful if they have expertise in specific software development tools or programming languages – after all, most modern day projects require at least SOME level of technical proficiency!

3. Be prepared to offer a high salary package - without a good project manager on board (or even part-time), chances are your organization won't achieve its goals timeline/objectives/etcetera... Pretty much everything goes wrong when big deadlines loom especially since everyone feels helplessly overwhelmed :-( So please budget accordingly ;-) Salary isn't THE ONLY factor though; other key factors include geographical flexibility etc which I'll get into later ;)

4) Lastly but definitely not LEAST importantly: MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PROJECT MANAGER IS APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR TEAM'S TASKS AND BIOLOGY!!! Just because someone has lots management certifications et al doesn't mean s/he's goingto mesh perfectly with everyones personalities,... Nor does having 10 years relevant industry exp under ones belt automatically equate tot he right candidate :-) If people feel uncomfortable working together then bad things invariably happen --- Projects go overbudget time lines overrun (!); moreover morale plummets quickly !! This happens more often than u might think!! Especially when teams consist mainly off young engineers fresh outta school !
