Points to consider when hiring a PM:
-How well do they understand the business?
-Do they have experience managing projects?
-Can they develop and lead teams of engineers or other professionals?
-Can they identify problems early and come up with solutions, preferably within budget constraints?
or less
PM hiring from overseas in India can be a challenge. There are various steps that need to be followed for proper screening and selection of the right PM candidate. Some key considerations include:
1) The company’s business needs - is the position required for growth or existing operations? Will it impact other areas of the company, such as marketing or finance? Are there any specific requirements related to location (country, city)? Can an international candidate be hired without impacting day-to-day operations?
2) Reviewing resumes/CVs – many companies require certain skills and experience not found on most CVs, so special attention should be paid during this stage. For example, if a job posting requires strong technical expertise but candidates often have backgrounds in engineering rather than business administration; looking specifically at educational institutions attended may uncover relevant degrees or courses which would satisfy those qualifications. Another consideration could involve language proficiency – some positions will require fluent English speakers while others might only benefit from applicants with intermediate level speaking ability.. Additionally, references must always been contacted directly by email unless otherwise arranged in advance! Phone calls generally do not elicit responses due to time differences etc…). References should provide honest feedback about how well potential employees performed within their previous roles and what type of person they think best matches the specified criteria outlined by your organization (e.g., qualities like Accountability & Commitment).
3) Interview process - after reviewing all application materials selected candidates will then participate in phone interviews with members of management team who make final decisions based upon performance reviews provided by direct reports (~50%). These interviews can last anywhere between 30 minutes up 2 hours depending on length and complexity questions asked
