When hiring interns, it is important to think about what skills and experiences the applicant has that would be beneficial to the community. Additionally, internships should not only provide practical training but also offer opportunities for spiritual growth and development.

The Monastic Community of Mount Athos hires interns through its own programs as well as partnerships with other organizations on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Programs offered include full-time work at one of three monasteries on Mt Athos (Athiriades monastery), part-time work during school semesters in Agios Panteleimonas School or summer camps run by our sister organization Sintra Cultural Association (SCA). Internship applications must include a resume listing education, certifications/degrees earned, professional references and letters of recommendation highlighting why you are suited for this type of position at Mount Athos Monastery or SCA camp respectively; there is no specific application form since each program varies slightly depending on which monastery you choose to apply to . Once applicants have been shortlisted based upon their qualifications we conduct an interview whereby students can display their passion project(s) if applicable. If everything goes favorably we then usually agree terms within two weeks after completing all necessary paperwork including passport photos!
